Hot & Cold Stone Facial
Hot & Cold Stone Facial
Hot and cold stone therapy is an advanced therapeutic massage technique, using the applications of thermotherapy with cryotherapy. This involves the use of heated volcanic basalt stones and cold marble stones.
This extremely popular therapy uses a combination of traditional and ancient therapies for deep levels of relaxation, rejuvenation and muscle relief. Hot and cold stones have many advantages over traditional hot stone and regular forms of massage therapies.
It helps to regulate and balance the body’s temperatures, especially as the warmer months are here (a hot stone massage will not have the balancing effects without the cool marble stone application). The treatment is tailored to meet individual needs and treat various conditions and ailments.
The Treatment
The treatment is performed on a therapy couch and includes a massage of the decolletage. Clients will be asked to remove garments on the upper part of the body but will be covered with a towel and blanket. The massage is performed with a mixture of both hot and cold stones to aid in tension release and circulation. A cleanse and exfoliation is usually performed before the stone massage commences. Ordinarily the massage would be performed using plain carrier oils however we can incorporate aromatherapy into this treatment if desired.

This is primarily for your protection and to ensure we are aware of any contra-indications before providing tretment. It is also a requirment of our insurers.
Treatment Aftercare
- Drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins; massage aids the removal of toxins from the body
- Coffee, tea and cola should be avoided as they contain caffeine. Aim to drink two glasses of water after each drink of tea or coffee if not. Or try to drink herbal infusions in place of tea or coffee
- Avoid any headache tablets as these too contain caffeine
- Avoid eating a heavy meal. Eat a light and natural diet, as refined and processed foods add to the toxicity levels within the body and hinder the natural healing process
- Do not smoke or drink alcohol for the next 24 hours. Alcohol and smoking are counter-productive as they increase the levels of toxins in the body.
